Private wine cellar app
"Wine Cellar" is a unique Android application for a private wine cellar.
Automates the work of the wine cellar. Collects and stores information about the collection of wines, simplifies the work of a sommelier. Created under an existing private wine cellar, where more than 20,000 bottles of wine are stored and accounted for.

- Keeps records of wine write-offs for a specific event.
The application was developed for Android Table tablet (diagonal 18.6). This is a non-standard device with a very large screen. It also supports a range of devices from 9 to 20 inches.
Full information about the wine in the cellar: name, type, container, variety, grape variety, country of origin, for which events it is suitable, quantity and availability, the nearest date of write-off.
That happy occasion when you make a program for one client. Really, for one. We had the opportunity to directly ask “Is it necessary?”, And leave only the functions that are in demand.
Every scenario has been worked out. For example, when a sommelier brings wine in boxes. The application «unpacks» the box and enters the required number of bottles.
The app reminds you when it’s time to buy or write off wine.
The program displays the actual position of the racks in the cellar. Each rack has a specific place with the numbers of the cells in which the wine is stored.
The sommelier fills in the wine card in the program. Now he will know where and in what quantity it is. Information about the arrival of wine is entered manually and displayed in a convenient table.
Quick access via NFC tags
The difficulty was in choosing an NFC tag that would be easy to stick and not spoil the appearance of the bottle. We chose a label that is glued to the bottom of the bottle.
During the development process, we encountered the problem of reading NFC tags, since there is no built-in reader in the tablet. We went through many options, settled on a portable reader.
UI design
The work began with an interview. We discussed the process in detail with the client, down to every movement of the sommelier, and analysed all scenarios for using the application. After that, we started designing the application.
We received photos of shelving and a plan of the cellar.
Design concept
Wine is a hobby. The client puts a lot of effort and inspiration into every little thing: from the temperature in the cellar to the colour of the wood. The application should fit into the overall concept, the design should please the client and not get bored over time.
We have made several design concepts to choose from.
Android Table tablet is a non-standard tablet. The hyper-large screen forces the interface controls to be built differently.
We made designs for all pages of the application.

Programming
The mobile application is only part of the system. For correct operation, a database is connected on the server and an API is written for the interaction between the server and the mobile application.
It took time not only to set up the exchange of information, but also to work on adding new racks.
