Wi-Fi space – is a start up, the purpose of which is to provide free access to the Internet around the world.
The project is designed for travellers, those who meet with the need to find access to the Internet in an unfamiliar place.
The service is available through:
- App for iPhone
- Android Application
- Website
Through the analysis, we have collected the largest services around the world that can be considered as competitors.
We noticed that they have different coverage densities: someone is very common in Europe, someone in the USA, but there are still no players who managed to cover the whole world.
We identified 3 formats of competitors:
- Providers that provide additional services to customers.
- Enthusiast sites where all points are collected, without verification and differentiation
- Companies that collect points, but are working on the base and its quality.
The analysis is drawn up and presented to the client.
How is the site "sharpened" for SEO?
The site is far from being as simple as it looks. For each major city in the world and many countries, we have created a separate landing page based on search queries.
What was done:
- Providers that provide customers with additional services.
- Enthusiast sites where all points are collected, without verification and differentiation.
- Companies that collect points, but work on the base and its quality.
Those who are interested in Internet access in Moscow, Warsaw, London or in Japan, the USA, Russia and so on, will learn about us, see the coverage and be able to download the application to their phone.

We also took into account that the site is being created for Russian and English speaking users. Therefore, it should be as convenient and clear for all countries as possible.
Design
The service must be recognizable. That is why the icons and colour palette are the same for all platforms.
In the design, we have incorporated wireless access associations in a variety of establishments — this increases memorability.
We start with simple forms. White background, nothing more.

Programming
Wi-Fi Space allows users to share known access points, that is, they can fill in the database and edit it themselves. Working with a database containing hundreds of thousands of points and tens of thousands of pages is a difficult task.
We have set high requirements for the speed of loading the site, for updating the database and for the convenience of working with the site.
At the same time, the site must work in tandem with two applications, where the database is also updated hourly, adding new points, etc. We spent a long time linking points to pages, there were quite complex engineering solutions.
Programming took the most time.
Written texts for static pages, pages with cities and countries. Completed the entire structure of the site, which is necessary to serve users.
